So, how does it work?
A dental implant consists of:
- Implant: that acts as replacement for the natural tooth root. It is made from medical grade titanium.
- Abutment: which acts as a support post for holding the implant and crown together.
- Crown: placed on top resembling your original tooth.
The dentist opens the gum and places the implant in the jawbone and seals the gum. The titanium implants begin merging into the jawbone after fixation. The recovery time of this procedure is 6 months. When the implant is fused in the jawbone, the abutment is placed on top of the implant and a custom-made crown is fitted on the abutment.
Once in place, dental implants & crowns are nearly indistinguishable from natural teeth & function just like them too. The result is a return to eating any of the foods you want, speaking naturally, smiling confidently & being free of dental pain.
